Marked differences b/w organic and inorganic compounds

There are some distinct differences between the composition, molecular structure and properties of organic and inorganic compounds

                  Organic compound

Inorganic compound

Made of carbon and few other elements, chiefly H, O, N and halogens.

Made of two or more elements of the periodic table.

Carbon atoms join with each other’s and some other atoms by covalent bonds to form complex structures.

Form simple ionic molecule.

Show isomerism whereby the same molecular formula represents two or more different compounds.

Do not show isomerism.

Gasses, solid, liquid are under study in these compound.

Generally  solids

They are soluble in organic solvent, but insoluble in water.

Soluble in water but insoluble in organic solvents.

They have low melting point.

High melting point.

Reaction are slow and don’t proceed to completion.

Reaction are fast and proceed to equilibrium.
